I know it has been a couple of weeks since I last posted. You will be all caught up if you read through the camping pictures. Hope you enjoy my posts! We have been really busy lately!
MPTS Spring Carnival

Today was a busy day around here! Will's school had their end of the year Kindergarten Program at 2pm. They were also celebrating 80 years with the big Spring Carnival late this afternoon. Will's program was just great! The children say TONS of songs- many of which were barely understandable!! What fun to watch them! Kate and Ben had a great time, as well. Kate clapped after each song and danced in her stroller! After, we all (Ron included, he was playing hookey from work this afternoon!) headed over to the Nature Museum and Freedom park. That was so much fun, as well! While we were looking for ducks in the park, we came across a black water snake in the lake that was easily 4 feet long! The boys just LOVED watching it swim across the lake and then climb up on land near us. Around 4:30, we headed back to MPTS for the big spring carnival. The kids had a great time sliding on the bouncy jumpers and eating popcorn and cotton candy! Kate, however, did not have as much fun as it was not geared towards toddlers! When we had had all the fun we could handle, we headed to McAllisters for dinner then home for ice cream! What a fun start to the summer!!

LAST GAMES!!

Will had a GREAT last game! I was finally able to make it to one- many had been during Kate's nap time. So, I took Will to this one by myself. We had such a great time. They played coach pitch this game and he hit every time he was up to bat!! He was so proud! Will also fielded a couple of good plays and played the best he had yet!! It sure was fun to see him play so well! Can't wait for the next season (well, I can wait- but I know it will be fun!!)

Boy's Night Out

And by out, I mean in the woods! The boys took their first overnight camping trip 2 weeks ago (this is so late because I have been waiting for Ron to write about it...). So, I am just going to give an overview of what they did. Ron got the boys new sleeping bags around Will's birthday so they had been begging to go try them out. Actually, they both slept in them in their rooms for a couple of nights!!So, Ron planned to take them the weekend of May 16th so he reserved the spot a week ahead (there were only a couple of spots left) and got to planning. Of course, it rained and rained the week of the trip and it was forecasted to rain the whole weekend. On Saturday, the rain was on and off so they decided to take the trip and hope for the best. They headed out for Chester State Park mid day and set up camp. The rain subsided and they ended up having a great time! Fishing, boating, and LOTS of gooey snacks! They made noodles and broccoli for dinner and smores for dessert! YUMMY!! The next morning, Ron made pancakes the size of the boys heads! After some time out on the boat, fishing, they headed home- Tired and full of fun stories!! They can't wait to go again!! Enjoy the pictures!Posted by Megan at 9:06 PM 0 comments
The Bunny Gets a Bath
Wednesday, May 13, 2009
So, Kate's beloved bunny needed a bath today. Wish I could have snuck her into the washer- but that bunny rarely leaves her side if we are in the house! So, I said 'Kate, let's give bunny a bath- put her in the bag and then in the washer'. She said 'NO! (That is her new word and she LOVES it!!) I said, 'Bunny really needs a bath- give her a hug and kiss, then we will wash her.' Once again, she said 'NOOO!' I eventually got her to put Bunny in the wash bag and into the washer. This was met with great resistance! We finally got her occupied with something else when Will asked if bunny was done. I mean really! So these are the pictures of Kate trying desperately to get into the dryer to get her bunny! Next time I will have to sneak it in!!

Happy Mother's Day

Yes, I realize this is a little late but, punctuality has never been my strong point! Anyway, Happy Mother's day to you all! Just wanted to share a little about our day. We woke up on Sunday with Ben still covered in hives (what a great way to be reminded how important Mommy is!)- we needed to go get the prescription that had been written Saturday night (long story- Ron had to take him to urgent care the hives were so bad!). We spent the morning around the house (had to skip church- we didn't want Ben being looked at funny- he really did look like a red splotchy mess!). I was given a red Heart from Will right when we got up. He had written 'I love you Mommy!' Just love that he can write and spell now!! What a treasure! After breakfast, I was given my gift from the boys- a new Kitchen Aid Imersion Blender! It is red and very cute! I just love it! We made milkshakes on Sunday night with it and they were DELICIOUS!! For dinner, we went to one of our favorite restaurants (no, not Five Guys- we did that for Valentines Day)- we went to Salsa's. Kids eat free there on Sundays and the food is FANTASTIC! Before we ate, Ben wanted to say the blessing- we thought he would just say the normal family blessing- but, boy, did he pull out the stops! He said
Dear Lord, Thank you for making it Mother's Day, Thank you for reading the bible with us, thank you for all the treasures in our hearts and thank you for the trees!
Okay, seriously, how sweet is that! I totally got teary eyed! We enjoyed a delicious meal and headed home for dancing and milkshakes! Just wanted to share a couple of dancing pictures!

Look Mom, No Training Wheels!!!
Sunday, May 10, 2009

Yesterday, Ben and I went on a bike ride (well, he rode the bike and I walked with Kate). When we got back, Ben went inside and said "Daddy, I am ready to take my training wheels off!" Ron said "What? Are you sure?" Ben was certain! (Ron had told him that if he could learn to ride on two wheels, he could get a new big boy bike- what incentive!!) So, off came the training wheels! We all went down to the park and Ben took off on his bike! It was so great to see him riding. He was so very proud of himself! I guess it is time to go looking for a big boy bike!!

Peek-A-Boo!

Kate has a new game that she LOVES to play! Peek-a-boo! The other morning I went into her room to get her for breakfast and she was sitting in her crib with a blanket over her head. I asked 'where is Kate' she giggled and pulled the blanket off her head and said 'peeboo!' Too cute! She just loves to play peek-a-boo now! So funny when they have things they think is funny!!

Little Ballerina
Monday, May 4, 2009

Cousin Grace sent a gift for Kate last week. A beautiful leotard with a tutu that Grandma gave her when Grace was 1. Grace wanted to let Kate borrow it. And, boy, was Kate ever excited when I opened the gift! She just squealed and pulled at it- couldn't wait to put it on! She just looks too cute!!!

Will's Birthday Bash

What fun Saturday was! We started the day with the boys sports and ended with a house ( okay backyard0 full of 6 year old boys! Will's friends, mostly from school, came over to celebrate around 2pm. Fortunately, the weather held out and we had a gorgeous afternoon for an outside party! The boys had such fun playing out back. There was an amazing amount of energy back there. Those boys played some serious games of tag, hide and seek, soccer and one fiesty game of red light green light. It was a party that reminded me of parties from when I was little. Just fun- no crazy activities. The kids had a great time! I made the cake- a baseball theme and it turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself! So, my worries about having 8 little bos in our backyard was without merit! They were all so well behaved and sweet! Enjoy the pictures!

Happy Birthday, Will!!!

So, it finally happened- Will turned 6 on April 30th. It was such a fun day!! I got up early and picked up breakfast from Panera- Will's favorite! We let him open on gift after breakfast- a helicopter that shoots off a handheld 'thing'. He was so excited and took it outside to play with before carpool. Kate and I were going to meet him at school for lunch and donuts with the class. Will was so excited to see us! He was line leader (a HUGE deal in kindergarten!) and had a birthday crown on that he had made. We ate lunch with his friends Marshall, Keegan and Trent. It was so fun to see Will in his element! Those boys are so silly! After they all finished lunch- I passed out donughts to the class and they sang 'Happy Birthday'. As you can tell in the picture, Will would have been happier if they had skipped that! He is so shy! That evening we celebrated with penne (Will's favorite food!) and cupcakes! Gran came in town that afternoon so she was there for the festivities! We had such fun! We are having a party for Will on Saturday- I will share pictures!
